Herding
The purpose of the ASCA
Stockdog Program is to preserve and promote the instinct of the
Australian Shepherd to be a versatile stockdog, showcasing the natural
working ability of the breed through the use of certification programs
for challenging trialing disciplines on several classes of stock.
The Kentucky Australian Shepherd Club (KASC) established in 2006 held
it’s first Stockdog Trials in April 2007, which turned out to be a huge
success. The goal is to hold at least 2 Stockdog events twice year in
the spring and fall. These stockdog trials are open to all breeds of
herding dogs, there are also Fundays and Educational Seminars held throughout the year,
also
Herding Seminars that are open to all not just members of KASC. Our
attendance to all of our events has been exceptional; there is always
something to be learned and questions to be asked.
The KASC organization had quite a few members who participated in the
2007 ASCA Finals and Nationals in New Jersey with success.
The Autumn is Awesome in November of 2007 was a huge success, we had
WTCH's, Belt Buckle Winners, 3 pt. Majors in Conformation and a whole
lot of fun.
